Wildlife Wonderland
The Waterberg mountain range stretches from a small mining town called Thabazimbi almost all the way to the N11 highway leading to Baltimore. This mountain range, as well as the hilly areas beyond (to the northwest) form a biome of more than 15000 square kilometers.
It was the first region in the north of South Africa identified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and is one of the major natural assets of the Limpopo province - Kruger National Park being the other major asset.
